January - June Mini & Saleabration Hop

Hello and welcome to our ESAD blog hop . We are show casing new products from the January - June Mini Catalogue .
I am excited to show you a special card that I created for a friend who will by now have received it ! her birthday was on Christmas Eve !
Sue loves her garden as well as baking and spending time with her family , especially her grandchildren who she adores . With her love of gardening in mind , I chose to use the Hydrangea Hill Suite of products . This was my first play with this suite so I was learning as I crafted . I stamped the outline of the large flower , inking it up with both Granny Apple Green , then Highland Heather - not the colours listed on the DSP backing but I was happier with the result. Of course I inked strategically , so as not to contaminate my inks , you could use markers if wanting to be more precise . Then I die cut the raised flower centre from the DSP , die cut the row of little flowers from Highland Heather as well from the Mercury Glass Acetate - this was tricky as it didn't cut the flowers right out and I had to do some strategic fussy cutting as well . However the end result was worth it , I think , do you agree ? I die cut my layers using the Curvy dies and stamped my greeting with the matching stamp set , sprinkled extra Mercury Glass flowers to look as if they 'd fallen , popped the curvy pieces over a piece of DSP I had cut at 7 cm x 14 .3 cm , embellished with rhinestones and a touch of Wink Of Stella . I decorated the inside and the envelope with more of that stunningly gorgeous DSP .
On Christmas Eve I received a phone call from Sue telling me how much she loved the card created especially for her and how it would go into her special keepsake box ! For those that wonder why we crafters love to go the extra mile I hope that  explains it to you . As my friend , Rhonda keeps telling me when we craft we put a small piece of ourselves into our project .
