Welcome to the ESAD blog hop . We are introducing you to some of the gorgeous products which will soon be available for order from the Holiday Catalogue .
This card started out to be something quite different but then this card eventuated ! I had planned on creating a cartoon strip card as shown by Hanna @ HanCrafted Creations in her you tube . I had been wanting to create one of these cards for a while and as soon as I saw the cute set called Elfie in the catalogue I knew I wanted to use it for this card . However things did not exactly go to plan ! I finished all of my measuring , laying out , stamping and colouring and was pleased with my handiwork . Then I proceeded to draw in my borders and thats when it happened . Thinking it'd be best to use the fine end of my blends for this step as I'd used blends for the colouring I went ahead only to find to my dismay that the blends marker bled ! I also tried my SWMarker with the same drastic result . I was devastated ! All of my labour of love for nothing ! No , this cannot be , how can I fix this ? I cut off the edges where the ink had bled and cut some Basic Black mats for my cartoon images . I assembled my card and decided to mount my little cartoon images using dimensionals , just because I could ! Disaster did not end there ! I then stamped my insert in the wrong orientation and whilst re stamping this managed to get my inky red finger on the outside white piece - thats where you see the red basic rhinestone ! Here you go , what do you think ?
I could not wait to use the gorgeous Bells Are Ringing bundle and thankfully this card was a breeze from start to finish ! I love those filigree bells . I die cut the filigree section from silver foil and layered them onto silver glimmer paper . Stunning ! I embossed my Whisper White mat using the Scripty embossing folder , then spritzed it with a mixture of Frost White Shimmer paint . The bells needed some foliage aha , luckily had also ordered the Peaceful Boughs bundle . The boughs were cut from Seaside Spray card stock then given a spritz with the left over shimmer mixture . Then I simply layered all of my die cuts until I was happy with how they looked . A Seaside Spray bow and some ice Stampin 'Glitter adhered with Shimmery Crystal Effects then of course some basic rhinestone jewels completed my card . I hope you like it but I have to say the photo does not do it justice and it is totally stunning IRL ! You will just have to make one of these beauties and see for yourself .
If you live in Australia and don't have a Stampin' Up ! demonstrator and are in need of a catalogue just email me and I will post one out to you .
I hope you have enjoyed my projects , they were fun to create ! Now it's time to see what the very talented Rochelle Laird - Smith has created !

Both your projects are great, as always Cheryl. I particularly love the bells card, a bit of a knock out that one. Thanks for the inspiration.

DeleteTwo wonderful cards Cheryl, the silver foil bells layered over the shimmer paper looks stunning.
ReplyDeleteHaha - sounds like you had a bit of creative drama, Cheryl! I love both of the cards - you definitely did a great job with your opportunity to embellish with the Elfie card!
ReplyDeleteThose bells can be used for a few different themes, cant they? The shiny, shiny looks great and those elves are so much fun!! Great work, Cheryl xxx
ReplyDeletehaah, I know its the worst, you however did a great job. I always have ink everywhere, I have even been known to drop the greeting at the bottom of the page and side ways. Wow and your bells are fantastic
ReplyDeleteOh Cheryl! You poor thing. None of mishaps show in your card, which is fab by the way. Your rhinestones look like they are meant to be there! Love the bells too. So I guess I need this now too!!! x
ReplyDeleteOh I love the silver foil on the silver glimmer paper!! You can never have too much silver!
ReplyDeleteI think you've done a fantastic job covering up those little boo boos on the first card - it's all come together so perfectly in the end you would never know that wasn't the original design! And I just love all the shimmer and sparkle on the second card, especially the base layer of those bells in the glitter paper. Gorgeous!
