PEEK A BOO SHUTTER CARD CLASS

Hi Stampers .
In today's class we honoured all the dads out there and created some male orientated cards . I decided to try a Peek s Boo shutter card . I had admired the one I received in a swap at retreat created by Michelle Dickinson and took my measurements from Michelle's card - such a fun person and great to spend time with !
There were 3 designs to choose from and when you open the card the shutter opens to reveal the greeting .

Here is a basic tutorial

PEEK A BOO SHUTTER CARD TUTORIAL
Card Base
8 inches x 5 3/4 inches
Score @ 2 “ and 6 “ on the 8 inch side
Centre panel
3 “ x 5 3/4 “
Punch using 1 3/4 inch circle punch - push the punch in as far as you can and centre and punch . 2 x pieces of contrasting cardstock 2 “ x 3 ‘ , score at 1/2 inch on the 3 “ side , then insert the OTHER end into the triple banner punch as far as it will go and punch both pieces .
Sentiment piece is 2 “ x 2 3/4 “
Method
Stamp sentiment piece and temporarily adhere into position under the centre panel piece with the circle punched out , line everything up and adhere permanently .
Adhere banners by lining them up over the white sentiment piece and having the edge of the banner butt up against the fold line of the card base .
Using foam dimensional strips adhere centre panel over the top , only putting these at the very top and very bottom .
Decorate the front of your card as desired .

Next up was a card using the Bubble Over  set . This card was spritzed with a new product coming out in the Holiday catalogue , Champagne Shimmer Paint - can you se the shimmer ? We used some of the Woodgrain textures DSP and some retired re foil sheets to create this card .

Lastly , we created this beautiful card which I cased from Amanda Bates , such a stunning card ! i , however kept my design to a regular sized card rather than a square card .
It is quite simple to create , temporarily adhere your Whisper White art piece to the card , then stamp your art piece creating your lovely scene . Remove the white piece and add the blue matt  .  I love using the waterfront set , it's so easy to create a scenic stunning card .

This class will go ahead this Saturday , contact me if you'd like to create these cards or to place an order .

FAUX SILK CLASS

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog today . Last Saturday I held an extra class which sparked a lot of interest . We were delighted to welcome Despina to class this week and she thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon as did everyone else . It was such a lovely group who were so engaged and I loved hearing everyone laughing  and chattering  . It was great that everyone was having so much fun . Now for the cards ! I realised I had not ever taught the Faux Silk technique so we began with a simple card .

Isn't it a stunning card ? The technique is quite simple . Stamp your greeting and sentiment onto tissue paper , make sure it's dry then turn over to the back of it and colour your image , you only need to colour the edges of the flowers . We used our Stampin " Write markers . Then when you are done screw up your tissue paper into a tight ball - what you say ? Yes , seriously ! Then carefully open it out but do not flatten it completely . Adhere to your card base using multi purpose glue and fold over to the back and mitre the corners neatly. Attach ribbon and pearls and you are done . My ladies  used different shades of pinks for their cards and I took photos of their beautiful creations
.

Next up was the stepped up versions of this technique . I have shown you the cards I created using that technique previously here

Here are the two cards we created using that technique  again .

My ladies cards , aren't they gorgeous ?

For the wedding card everyone could use different colours so chose their favourite combinations and don't they all look amazing ?

To achieve this stunning effect add  colour to your  tissue paper by  either using ink pads or brusho and dry. Dab with your versamatk pad . add your embossing powder of choice and heat using your heat gun and watch the magic happen !

We finished off the wonderful afternoon with an an afternoon tea of home made ricotta and apple cake and a Devonshire tea .Yum ! The next classes are next Thursday 30 th August and next Saturday 1 st September . Contact me for more details , I'd love to introduce you to paper crafting .
