Hi and thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today .
Last week 10 ladies joined me to learn the Black Ice technique . Here is the card we created in class I thin you may have seen it before in a previous post .
I love this technique discovered by Melissa Kerman . In brief you swipe an Archival Black ink pad down your foil piece , turn and swipe again use only the tip of the pad so as not to get the foil too inky . Do the same to your piece of Crumb Cake matt . Stamp your image and sentiment and heat set . Then using the same swiping technique , very carefully add versa mark to the foil piece in the same manner and then cover in clear embossing powder. If you have the versa mark pad too flat you will cover your foil in ink and the whole piece will be shiny and flat , this is NOT what you are trying to achieve but it happened with a couple of my ladies , if you get too much ink and powder on , just use a paint brush and remove some , you only want streaks of clear embossing to give the effect of ice .
Next up was a double joy fold card using Sweet little Something to create a baby card . As Gail pointed out this was a very easy card to create because all the cutting up and scoring was already prepped so it was basically just stamping the image and sentiment and we were done ! We used the stamparatus which made the 3 step stamping so much easier ! Isn't he just too super cute !
I found a tutorial for the double joy fold card
here, thank you Amanda Bates at the Craft Spa .
The last card was super easy and there were two styles . These cards used the gorgeous Picture Perfect Party DSP , retiring soon so be sure to grab your pack !
That's all I have to share with you today but if you live in the Kerang and surrounding area and would like to learn the Tarnished Foil technique that' s up next in our May class so be sure to book your space ! The Thursday evening spot is proving to be very popular and is booked out , there are spaces left for the afternoon session and also one space left in the Saturday afternoon class . If interested you can book in on my SU website
