BRUSHO MEETS JOSEPH'S COAT

Oh wow ! I am so excited to share with you today a new technique I discovered ! I will walk you through my journey to this discovery . Ok , so I was searching for inspiration when I came across this gorgeous card by Kylie Page , I discovered it  on Pinterest here . I proceeded to do the same technique but chose to use Perennial Birthday instead . Here is that card . This was created  using the traditional Joseph's Coat technique , I used a template as Kylie did  so that my green and pink would be in the correct spots !  I used Memento black ink as my top coat . If you're not familiar with the technique it's quite easy - just sponge your colours of choice randomly over your card stock . Allow the ink to dry or hit it with the heat tool . Clear heat emboss your chosen images over the piece , then simply take a dark coloured ink pad and swipe over the whole thing ! Come on be brave it's so worth it ! Then take a paper towel an wipe ink off your embossed images and be in awe of the magic !

So then I started thinking hmmm I wonder if Brusho would work with this technique so I started experimenting . I  started  with shimmer card stock , my favourite when water colouring, but I found the ink pad didn't glide smoothly over the top . I was , however happy enough with my first sample here . I have used the flourish from the SAB peacock set and also some SAB ribbon ! What do you think ?

I thought I'd try some Glossy CS and some Thick Whisper White . Here are some photos of what my project looked like after the Brusho was added . let dry and the clear eat embossed .

Glossy

I was not happy with the end result from the Glossy experiment - it's in the bin , lol , but here is the card I created with the thick Whisper White sample .

Now here are a few more samples using different stamp sets and I've used Dapper Denim as my top coat on the last two samples .

Thanks for stopping by today ! I'd love to know what you think of  my new technique so please leave me a comment . I'd also  love to know who reads my blog and so I am going to run a little competition . Leave me a comment and I will pop your name in the draw to win the  SAB set , Epic Celebrations  ! This competition is only  Australian residents and not open to demonstrators . I will draw the winner next Sunday evening .

ESAD 2018 Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration blog hop

Hello and welcome to the first ESAD blog hop for this year ! I have been enjoying playing with some of the new items in both the Occasions and Sale -a - Bration catalogues .
I decided to share 3 cards using Bird Banter .
First an easy one layer card very simply created and perfect for beginners . The leaves are so easy to position and the card comes together really quickly and easily . The cockatoos are quick to colour with the new blends . I have to admit to chucking every time I read the two sentiments - not an early bird ! Fantastic for a belated birthday card ! I love all the sentiment in this set and will use each and every one of them .

For this card I stamped leaves onto my Lemon Lime Twist  base before embossing it with the Woodlands embossing folder . I stamped and coloured my birds and then cut slits in the mat so they'd look like they were sitting right in the trees . There's that same sentiment again and then check it  when you turn to the inside ! Love it !

Lastly I thought I'd try a brusho background for these birds ! I wet my water colour card stock then shook a few crystals and watched he magic ! You really need to get yourself some of this stuff ! Its amazing ! This time I die cut my leaves using the dies from Petals and More thinlits . This was th first time I used this die and oh man I am in love ! These leaves are gorgeous and cut like butter ! This time i used the simple Happy Birthday sentiment and punch it using the Classic Label punch ! Perfect ! I love the sentiment I've used on the insert too !
