#TGIFC118 Technique Time - Emboss Resist

Welcome back ! I hope you have had a great weekend  . I had a lovely time stamping with a friend , doing some baking and also had the pleasure of a visit form my grandaughter for dinner this evening .
I wanted to share my card I created for the emboss resist challenge . This was my first time using both my Magical Mermaid and Marbled background stamps !
I white heat embossed my background first and then added some colour with a small stamping block inked up and then spritzed with water . I used Marina Mist , Island Indigo and Emerald Envy . I was not done with the ocean background yet though . I took a retired Stampin ' Up ! mask and my embossing paste and added swirl like areas which I quickly covered in Dazzling Diamonds . I was pretty happy with the resulting sparkly sea I'd created . Next on to the mermaid , oh I forgot to mention I used Glossy White card stock for my background and for the mermaid . I silver embossed the mermaid and coloured her using Island Indigo , Powder Pink and Crushed Curry. Then I again opened up my jar of embossing paste , love that stuff , and carefully covered her body section and again added Dazzling Diamonds . I stamped some sea weed  over the background , you can only just see it but its there ! More sea weed was stamped on a piece of glossy  whit card stock I had first water coloured using Emerald Envy  . I am really pleased with my first play with both of these sets ! Such fun !

I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I have created for this challenge and if you'd like to join the challenge or take a look at all of the other wonderful creations here is the link

  1. Wow Cheryl, this card is amazing!! The background alone is gorgeous but that mermaid and her tail have to be the stand out. I can't love this card enough. Thank you so much for joining us this week at TGIF - Chlo x
