Stamping in the dark !

Today was very challenging . We had a fierce storm and the power went out about 1 am . Then I lay in bed worrying if it'd be back on again in time for my 9.30 am class . This was not to be , it was predicted that it wouldn't be back on again until midday . Oh dear I thought , no power at my house means , no water , no phone , no internet which = no flushing toilet either ! I got up and dressed , thankful I had been scrapping until midnight and had showered before I went to bed . Had some yoghurt for breakfast , cleaned my teeth with some water from the fridge , then remembered I had filled the urn with drinking water ready for classes so at least there was that ! I got to work making the sandwiches and hubby got out the generator which happily enough was able to run a couple of plug in portable lights and even had enough power to run the heat tools !
My sister in law arrived with a coffee for me ! I could have hugged her ! Hubbie also got out a little portable gas cooker so that I could make my ladies a drink later . However , the power came on again at about 11.30 just in time for a cuppa break and thank heavens we'd have power for the afternoon class .
So , now for the cards . This first one , faux watercolouring was cased from here http://www.constantlystamping.com/ and was my first introduction to this technique . You fill your Aqua painter with rubbing alcohol instead of water and it enables you to water colour successfully on Whisper White cardstock . You must remember to always stamp your image in Memento black ink when using an alcohol medium . Thank you so much Connie for sharing this idea with me , I love  it !
Here is the card I created using Connie's technique  and our retiring In colours .

The next card was my own creation . Stampin ' Up ! Make it so easy , don't they !
I used the Cups and Kettles stamp set and die to create this cute card . We coloured the cup using the same technique as before . The small flower is from the set called Timeless Love and the colours usedwere  Rose Red and Marina Mist . The same flower was white heat embosse onto the kettle . I love how these turned out and so did my ladies !

The last card was quick and easy and cased from thecraftythinker.com.au , thank you Stephanie for the inspiration . As there were no clues how to achiever this look , I guessed "  how she did that  " and it turned out really well . First  I stamped the ship image into the Sahara Sand background , sponged the raised areas of the sea using Lost Lagoon ink , breathed on it , the embossed with World Traveler TEF , stamped the greeting and added the button and twine ! Done ! A quick and easy male card !
Thanks for stopping by .😀
