New Catalogue Launch Day

Yesterday was my new catalogue launch day . My customers receive their new catalogue and it's a day I get to spoil those that have attended my classes regularly and supported me throughout the past year . All of my regulars went home with a stamp set and some were lucky enough to also go home with a new in colour ink pad or some twine . The newbies and the occasional customers didn't miss out either and were delighted to receive hand made goodies as well . The bags everyone received  contained a catalogue survival kit which contained the following
The bags also contained a page of coupons to be used through the year , some gift bags filled with ribbons and embellishments and in colour cardstock and the newest DSP , a chart with all of the new colours and  everyone received a cutie pie piece of cake containing a chocolate treat or two and a voucher giving them either free postage or free class and of course they all received their free catalogue .
Several games were played  that had everyone laughing .
The new catalogue was a hit and all went home to study it !
The make n takes were kept simple by using simple cards from two different kits - Watercolour Wishes and Oh Happy Day . These kits are great for beginners or for when you are traveling because they can be quickly made up with everything included in the kit .
I am starting a beginners class this Saturday so if you've never stamped before contact me and come along and join the fun and pick up a free catalogue .

Everyone got to finish off a bookmark I had began using a new technique . You can find details here

Thankyou Ruth for sharing this awesome technique .
Here are my samples

These are samples of some cards I have created using some of the new product - all cased and sorry I did not have time to add links from where I saw these but if you see a version of your card here please know I am eternal.y grateful that you have done all the hard work for me !

The day was finished off with a delicious  home made morning / afternoon tea and I've had several text messages telling me how much fun the day was ! This makes my heart happy 😀😀😀

I am so excited to be taking part in this blog hop for the first time even though I've been a member of ESAD for about three years !
I have to admit that the stamp I used for this first card I had hardly used but always was wanting to use it to try out the zen tangle technique . I guess I was nervous to try this and afraid of making a huge mess of it ! I'm so thrilled with how , this , my very first attempt turnerd out . It's really quite easy all you'd do is doodle in all of the separate sections of the flower . When I was done doodling Imounted my   flower that I had cut out with my paper snips onto a Basic Black circle cut using the Circle Framlits this was mounted on a piece of Go Wild DSP which was then mounted on a Basic Black card base . I stamped the greeting  on Whisper White and mounted it into a Basic Black piece.

Isn't t  this  flower just gorgeous ? I stamped the flower  , the butterfly and the sentiment onto Night Of Navy cardstock using Versamark and heat embossed them in white .   I then took a few drops of White craft re inker and washed over  rhe flower image with my Aqua painter . I dried this off using my heat tool  and added back some blue using a drop of Bremuda Bay re inker and again my Aqua painter . A few rhinestones completed my card . This technique is called  Whitewashing .

For my last card I used the Cups and Kettles framelits and marching stamp set . I was inspired by a set of mugs I use for my class ladies . First , I cut the cups and the kettle out with the framelits  and then stamped using Tip Top Taupe onto Very Vanilla to create the patterns on the cups . The background was created m using the Softly Falling textured embossing folder which is thankfully not retiring !

GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT

Welcome to the Global Design Project #GDP034! . This week we are playing along with one of Teneale Williams amazing sketches.
To create this card I used white embossing powder to heat emboss the dandelion images onto my shimmer paper . I took an acrylic block and scribbled on it with my Pool Party , Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral markers , I spritzed it lightly with water and stamped it over the dandelions.  I used the same marked to randomly colour a wood elements sentiment and then gave it some shimmer using my clear Wink Of Stella pen . Before adhering it to my card I adhered some silver metallic twine randomly to the back .

PALS PAPER ARTS SKETCH CHALLENGE

This is my first time taking part in the Palspaperarts challenge and I had so much fun creating this card I'm sure it will not be my last !
I began with stamping the sun image using Daffodil Delight and then the leaves on the right . As I hunted through my cut out images that I 'd saved form other projects I came across the leaves from the Rose die and when I placed them on top of the stamped leaves it made me happy ! Then I looked for the perfect butterfly so that my card would not look too bare and decided to use some Blackberry Bliss  washi tape to create one .I really like how this card turned out and I hope you like it and can take some inspiration from my creation .

MAY COLOUR CHALLENGE

It's the first Monday of the month which means a new colour challenge over at SSI . Check it out :

This is the first time I've taken part in this challenge and it's a lot of fun . I hope you like my card . The trees  and the grass were stamped in Always Artichoke , then I masked them and stamped the mountains using  Wisteria Wonder . I took my Aqua painter filled with rubbing alcohol and coloured the mountains using  Wisteria Wonder and the water using Island Indigo . Then I stamped the sentiment using Island Indigo . I added a few touches of Wink of Stella to appear as ripples on the water and sunshine on the mountains . Always Artichoke is a colour I seem to always neglect so this was a great opportunity to use it .

Stamping in the dark !

Today was very challenging . We had a fierce storm and the power went out about 1 am . Then I lay in bed worrying if it'd be back on again in time for my 9.30 am class . This was not to be , it was predicted that it wouldn't be back on again until midday . Oh dear I thought , no power at my house means , no water , no phone , no internet which = no flushing toilet either ! I got up and dressed , thankful I had been scrapping until midnight and had showered before I went to bed . Had some yoghurt for breakfast , cleaned my teeth with some water from the fridge , then remembered I had filled the urn with drinking water ready for classes so at least there was that ! I got to work making the sandwiches and hubby got out the generator which happily enough was able to run a couple of plug in portable lights and even had enough power to run the heat tools !
My sister in law arrived with a coffee for me ! I could have hugged her ! Hubbie also got out a little portable gas cooker so that I could make my ladies a drink later . However , the power came on again at about 11.30 just in time for a cuppa break and thank heavens we'd have power for the afternoon class .
So , now for the cards . This first one , faux watercolouring was cased from here http://www.constantlystamping.com/ and was my first introduction to this technique . You fill your Aqua painter with rubbing alcohol instead of water and it enables you to water colour successfully on Whisper White cardstock . You must remember to always stamp your image in Memento black ink when using an alcohol medium . Thank you so much Connie for sharing this idea with me , I love  it !
Here is the card I created using Connie's technique  and our retiring In colours .

The next card was my own creation . Stampin ' Up ! Make it so easy , don't they !
I used the Cups and Kettles stamp set and die to create this cute card . We coloured the cup using the same technique as before . The small flower is from the set called Timeless Love and the colours usedwere  Rose Red and Marina Mist . The same flower was white heat embosse onto the kettle . I love how these turned out and so did my ladies !

The last card was quick and easy and cased from thecraftythinker.com.au , thank you Stephanie for the inspiration . As there were no clues how to achiever this look , I guessed "  how she did that  " and it turned out really well . First  I stamped the ship image into the Sahara Sand background , sponged the raised areas of the sea using Lost Lagoon ink , breathed on it , the embossed with World Traveler TEF , stamped the greeting and added the button and twine ! Done ! A quick and easy male card !
Thanks for stopping by .😀
