KELLY'S STAMPING FRIENDS BLOG HOP

Hello and welcome to Kelly's blog hop ! I first met this lovely young lady online when she offered to help me with some technology  issues and couldn't wait to meet her in person . Kelly is celebrating five years as a Stampin ' Up ! Demonstrator and this blog hop is her way of celebrating her journey with us all . I was flattered to be invited along for the hop . There are no rules , Kelly stipulated we were to share what makes us happy !
I have been playing with a set I've just received and it is making me very  happy so I will share a sample I created using it ! It such an easy set to use and works best with thick white card stock , but you can spritz our regular card stock and still achieve a pleasing result . I have used some new in colours as well as Bermuda Bay for this card . You can have a lot of fun using all of the different swatches and shapes in this  set . I went a little crazy and stamped the envelope as well as the inside , easy peasy ! Love !

This next card just popped into my head when I first began to play with the Lovely Laurel thinlit dies !  I couldn't wait to see how the beautiful vines would look above this swing which is in the Sitting Here set . I think it looks amazing , don't you ? I can see lots of uses for this set !

I created this next card for our team retreat swap this weekend ! I used our watercolour pencils to create the sunset effect , so easy just colour and then add water with your aqua painter ! When this section was dry , I stamped the sun rays , sentiment , chair and palm leaves . I really love how this card came together for me and I  hope my team love it just as much as I do !

I adore this set which is called Bright Wishes and I have created a diarama card -  perfect for this set . This card came about because of a whoopsadaisy and  the decorated outer piece also as a result of a whoops ! A boo boo that had me reaching for another two sets Wood Words and Happy Birthday Gorgeous. I was delighted to see how well the flowers in both sets matched .

I've been having a lot of fun playing with Birthday Delivery and seeing what other ideas I could come up with for the little girl . If you saw my previous post you'd have seen her gazing in awe at a Christmas tree ! Here I have her waiting at the front door with a bunch of flowers hidden behind her back and then I have her dreaming of fairies ! The door was created with a technique shown by Carolyn Bennie where you swipe your ink pad down onto your glossy paper . The door was stamped and cut out using the At Home With You bundle.

The flourish was clear heat embossed and the background was achieved using our watercolour pencils . I have coloured the fairy and cut her out using my paper snips .

Now its time to see what the very talented and gorgeous Kristel Rimmer has created for us ! Just click the next button

ESAD 2017 - 2018 ANNUAL CATALOGUE SNEAK PEEK BLOG HOP

Hi everyone and welcome to our sneak peek blog hop . The new catalogue is amazing and you are going to love it ! Some of my ladies already have their copies so contact me if you'd like to get your hands on it too .
This card is one I created for a RAK swap and although we don't have ours yet the group have kindly allowed me to share my creation here .

I am so happy that Stampin Up is bringing glossy card stock back . I have a confession - I still have a stash from before ! I have used my interpretation of a technique called polished stone for the background of this card . I took a cotton ball and soaked it in rubbing alcohol , then I added drops of Pool Party and Soft Sky ink refill and dabbed it onto the glossy card stock . I let this dry before continuing but you could hit it with your heat gun if you are impatient . I stamped the sun and then the branches , leaves and sentiment . You do need to leave a little time in between stamping to make sure the ink is dry . I love the autumn feel to this card  .  The set I've used is called Colourful Seasons and it has a matching die set  and is so versatile .
A friend at work asked me if I'd create two special cards for her twin grandsons first birthdays ! I was delighted  and knew straight away which set I wanted to use ! This set is called Birthday Delivery and is another I'll be reaching for again and again . It has matching DSP and  a set of framelits which MATCH the DSP ! I knooooowwww right ! How awesome is that ! These cards were a breeze to create with SU doing all the work for me once again !

I was yet to play with Daisy Delight which has a matching punch ! I was also keen to try a technique I had seen on You tube - there are many so I am not sure who to credit for this interesting cool  technique . Its called the Nail Varnish technique , be warned , not to be tried while  husbands that complain about chemical odours are in the vicinity of your craft space ! Basically you put some water  , about 3 cm in the bottom of a throw away container - I used a foil dish  - and then add drops of your choice of nail polish , they say the cheaper ones work the best . Then take a wooden skewer and give it a swirl , working quickly , place your paper ( glossy , watercolour or shimmer ) down into the water and onto your coloured swirls , pull out onto paper towel and allow to dry ! Please note it is best to use gloves for this ! I used Berry Burst to stamp onto glossy card stock and punched and layered two flowers . The centre is one of the new Glitter enamel dots , love them ! My sentiment is also stamped onto glossy card stock . I cased the lay out of this card from Sarah Walker , thank you Sarah .

I continued using the daisy set to case a  card I'd seen by Tandra Boyer where she used the punch to create a skirt for the lady in the Beautiful You stamp ! I was keen to have a try and this is my card . I have used Colour Theory paper stack for my matt and also for underneath the vellum for the skirt . I found it most effective to cut each petal singley and layer until happy with my result . I clear embossed the vellum using powder pink.

Just one more ? One of my ladies , yes you Sharron , happened to mention to me that the little girl from Birthday Delivery looked like she should be standing in front of a Christmas tree ! That was my inspiration for this card ! Never too early for Christmas cards right ?

Now its time to see what the talented Leonie Schroder has created for us !
