FAUX BOOK CARD

Hi Stampers !
I hope you all had a great Christmas and  ate way too much just as I did !My house is still full of little people so Ive taken the opportunity to do some blogging while they have gone to visit some friends .
I was asked for a  S.U gift certificate by one of my clients granddaughters  and so I created this faux book card in which to present it ! The idea came from Janas Bastalwelt and she has a video on you tube  here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc07o9kEyfk&t=25s but as it isn't in English I found Stampin T 's you tube easy to follow here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QL1idC510Vo&t=5s .
This is the first time I've createdone of these designs and I was delighted with how it turned out ! This was truly a labour of love but don't you just love it when things go they way you planned ! Did you know you could purchase a S.U gift certificate from me for those crafters you just know would love some more crafting tools ! Who wouldn't !

Remember the magic cards I shared with you previously ? My grandsons were delighted with these creations ! Cool Nan ! Was the exclamation when they figured out how they changed colour ! Love those mice !

That is my share for today ladies so continue to enjoy your break with your families until next time when I will share some of the handmade S.U  cards I received for Christmas.

CASE THIS CARD COLOUR CHALLENGE

CASE THIS CARD # CTC016 COLOUR CHALLENGE

Hello everyone ! I hope you all had a lovely day today ! I sure did ! Nothing better than getting together with family and friends for Christmas . While my household is getting ready for bed , well the children are already asleep of course , I decided I'd take the quiet time to share my card I created yesterday for this challenge - because what else did I have to do on Christmas Eve ! I guess Im just addicted to this wonderful hobby of mine !
I immediately thought of balloons when I saw the colours for this challenge ! I took out my colours and this card just evolved like magic ! First a water colour wash with Dapper Denim , followed by stamping the buildings from Everyday Hero along the base of my card also using Dapper Denim .
The hot air balloons were stamped in Emerald Envy and Real Red . The clouds were stamped with Dapper Denim and the sentiment in Real Red . A piece of Emerald Envy twine completed this card which was mounted on a Real Red DSP mat , the onto an Emerald Envy base.
Here is my card

COLOUR INKspiration CHALLENGE

Hello everyone ! Well it's Christmas Eve so I saw a colour challenge in a group I belong to on Facebook so I decided I'd like to participate ! Well what else do I have to do on Christmas Eve right !
This is the colour swatch I had to work with .

As soon as I saw the challenge colours I knew my card was going to be based on  either a nautical or a botanical theme .
I think the stamps in the new set High Tide compliment these colours very well . What do you think ?

I began with a water colour wash using Bermuda bay on very lightly to create my background. The lighthouse  , water and flying birds were stamped with Bermuda Bay . I stamped off Daffodil Delight for the sand but used full strength for the light beam . The water birds , grass and sentiment were stamped using Mint Macaron . Some Bermuda Bay twine adds an accent to this card and then I used a Mint Macaron DSP matt  before adhering it to the Bermuda Bay base . This was so much fun I can't wait to join in more of these challenges ! If you would like to join in these challenges just request to be added to this group .
You can check out the challenge here http://www.facebook.com/groups/349642308720075/

ESAD 2017 Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration Sneak Peak

Welcome back to another ESAD blog hop , whether you've just joined the hop or have come from Cheryl O'Bree's blog I'm sure you'll enjoy sitting back with a cuppa and following along to see all of the inspirational creations !We are showing you some of our favourite products from the Occasions and Sale-a-brations catalogues . Not sure what SAB is all about ? Well at this time of the year S.U launch this promotion and in Australia when you spend $90 before postage you get to choose a free item from the SAB catalogue ! How cool is that ! Now onto my projects .
If I had to choose a favourite my choice would be  the Dragonfly Dreams bundle , although there are so many awesome new products it is really hard to choose just one !

For my first card I have chosen to use the Inside The Lines DSP from the SAB catalogue ( free with qualifying order ) for the base of my card . I chose to pick out just a few flowers and leaves and coloured them in Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron using my ink pads and blender pens . I have also added a touch of So Saffron to the flower centres .
I used the rock and roll technique to stamp my dragonfly in Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron and cut a filligee dragonfly from our Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and layered it over the top of my stamped draonfly. The sentiment was stamped in Blushing Bride and cut out using the Project Life Cards and Labels framelits . I then cut a mat for my sentiment as well . I adhered some of our silver metallic thread to the base of the dragon fly before attaching it . To finish my card I used the fine tip glue pen to add some dots of glue and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds .

To create my next card I wanted to try something a little different . I took a piece of window sheet and randomly stamped some Mint Macaron , Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy , ink spots work great for this . Then I spritzed the window sheet and my Shimmery White CS with a little water and pounced my window sheet all over my CS until I was happy with the result . I dried it off and sat back to admire my artwork ! I used the gorgeous images from the  Awesomely Artistic stamp set to stamp some images in the darker colours . I love combining our sets to create my cards ! I also added some Silver  Glitter using the fine tip glue pen again. I find this gives a more subtle look without adding too much glitter  and over whelming your card . I decided this would look great on a brick wall so out came my embossing folder  to which I rolled on some Mint Macaron with a sponge brayer - love those  brayers ! The sentiment also comes from Awesomely Artistic and was also cut using the framelit from the Project Life Cards and Labels set .Then I simply cut the cluster of small dragonflies and placed them on top of my watercoloured piece .

Next , I wanted to use the bee image which is also included in this set and I wanted to create a peek a boo secret slider card. This is the  card I created and  I am stoked at how it turned out !  For the secret slider design I followed Meg Loven's you tube video . Thank you so much Meg for sharing your design . I've used the bee which is in the Dragonfly Dreams set and also the bee from Touches Of Texture and again the foliage image from Awesomely Artistic . The little bee hive comes from the Sliding Star Framelits and matching stamp set , Shooting Star - don't you just love the versatility of S. U products ! It's a little hard to see from the photos but the card slides across to reveal a hidden message ! I need to make a few more of these  !

I just have to show you this cute card using Hey Chic , a SAB stamp set ! How adorable is this ! Decided to have a go at making a free standing pop up card and doesn't  that chicken just look too cute sitting up there ! I used Lou Kitzelman 's free standing pop up card tutorial for this one with a few alterations .

I hope you have enjoyed my projects , thanks for looking , next up is the very talented  Maree so keep hopping along and check out her beautiful creations .

In case you get lost along the way , here is a list of all of the blog hop participants  .

PLAYING WITH NEW PRODUCTS

Hello and welcome back ! I have almost finished creating and sending or giving out all of my crafty Christmas and December birthday creations and have had a bit of time to play with some new products from the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues . You will be able to order these products from 4 th January 2017 .

I just love the Hey Chic stamp set in the SAB catalogue ! Did you know that you get to choose this and many other lovely products from this catalogue free with a qualifying order ?
The first thing I thought of when i spotted the new Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions folder had nothing to do with tools ! First I saw chicken wire and then bee hives !
Here you go !  I used the new pencils to colour the chook and some Early Espresso to the inside of the folder to add some dimension .

This card uses the same folder but i have snipped it to resemble a bee hive ! I used the flowers and foliage from another new set called Oh So Succulent and some smaller bees from Touches Of Textue , another of my favourite stamps from the AC .

Lastly , this one shows the other two chicken images in this set and to show the versatility of SU DSP I have used the Candy Cane Lane DSP from the HC to matt my little chooks ! How do you like the crazy chicken ?
That's all from me today but be sure come back tomorrow and follow along on the ESAD blog hop .

CHRISTMAS SCRAPBOOK CLASS

Today was the last class for the year for my Scrapbooking group . I am loving using the various dies from the Holiday catalogue for my pages . Can you spot the brand new product I've used  ? I love how these pages came together .

BEGINNER ' S CLASSES

I was more than a little sad to be hosting the last of these classes for this year but am looking forward to a break in December to refresh and plan next year's classes.
My ladies were excited to receive their special little gifts - personalised bone folders with their names engraved ! This time I went for blue tones , it's a great opportunity to use up those little DSP scraps ! I totally forgot to take a photo before class so these are for the absent ladies , I hope they are able to make it for classes next year .

Once again I have only used stamps , ink and paper and showcased Lovely As A Tree and Better Together stamp sets . I also used Greetings From Santa which is presently on sale .

The ink was brayered on and the trees simply  stamped , glitter added with the paint brush spatter technique and some silver ribbon finished it off nicely
Cased from Pinterest and it was created by Paula Dobson , thank you Paula , I love this card .
It uses the Northern Lights technique and while a little unsure about it everyone's card was unique.

Cased from the very talented Julie Gearinger . This is one of my favourites !

CHRISTMAS CLASSES

Last weekend I held my last two Christmas classes . Saturday was my advanced stampers class . I was able to order engraved bone folders for all of my class ladies from Tamra Davies Etsy store without the excessive postage costs because Tamra joined us at On Stage and also took part in our Vintage Swap . I loved her card so much I came home and created one of my own and my class ladies also created it . The music stand is cleverly created using the Decorative Label punch . Pretty darn cool huh !

This next card I cased from page 27 of the Holiday Catalogue . I love this card . It uses the Holly Berry Builder punch and stamp set and the Pretty Pines Bundle - so versatile , not just for  Christmas !

The next card for this group of lovelies was the one created with the Christmas Magic set that the previous group also created .

Sunday's class also created Tamra's card as well as  two more cards . I wanted the ladies to try out the new Stitched Shapes framelits because S.U have made them available to us for the month of November  . However , due to their popularity , they have sold out and you must oder them before Monday if you wish to have them as soon as they are back in stock . Otherwise , they are not going to be available until the next annual catalogue  begins . Here is the card I created using them .

Here is the next card . I adore that little angel ! Isn't she the sweetest ?

I had made some lovely gifts to show my appreciation for the support my ladies give me  and also a Christmas card which I had cased from my vintage swap card I created !

Decorated Bags

Ferrero Roche in tiny tea cups !

Christmas cards and decorated bone folder holders for the engraved bone folders .

Finally both groups created this gorgeous Merry Mice card which I cased from Patti McDermott on Pinterest .

STAMPIN ' UP ! ON STAGE LIVE

Home from On Stage in Brisbane and straight back into card classes for me ! What an inspirational few days we had . The best part of attending OnStage is catching up with all of the lovely demonstrators from all over the world . I met so many great ladies and had the chance to connect with others I had previously met . I am ready to head of to my first product playground . This is where we get to do some make n takes using new product . I was in he same group as the lovely Melanie from Mt Isa and the oh so funny Pam from Horsham . We had so much fun .

The new Occasions Catalogue begins on 4 th January but I was lucky enough to be able to put in a pre order and so I already have some lovely new product to play with as soon as I have my Christmas crafting sorted !
I took part in a vintage  swap organised by Cheryl O'Bree . This is the card I created using Seasonal Bells to make a wedding card.

POP UP PANEL CLASS

Today I taught eight ladies how to create a pop up panel card . Once you've figured out the mecahism for this card its really quite easy !
These are the two we created in class

My friend , Cheryl O' Bree and I set about creating one of these cards and we watched an excellent Youtube by Collette Mitrega
 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aPth6sobAF4

We figured out that you do not need to use 12 x 12 paper for this card and i have a bit of a tutorial for you but urge you to go to Collette 's you tube because its a great tutorial ! Thanks so much for freely sharing Collette !

Start by cutting a piece of A4 cardstock at 4 inches with the short end to the top of the trimmer . it will measure 4 x 11 11/16
Also required
31/2 x 10
3 1/2 x 8
9 1/2 x 1 for belly band .
Fold your card base ( largest piece ) in half and burnish .
Adhere DSP to front of card and two pieces to inside of card.
Take your 10 x 31/2 piece and score at 2 1/2 , 5 and 7 1/2 inches in the landscape  position.
Valley , mountain , valley fold this piece
Take your 8 x 3 1/2 piece and score at 1 3/4 down the centre in the portrait position . Then lay it in your trimmer in the landscape position and place a pencil mark at the 2 1/4 mark . Flip and do likewise on the other end.
Line up diagonally in your trimmer and score from pencil mark to pencil mark
Burnish the two long score lines and valley fold them .
Take your diagonal score lines and gently fold into peaks until you have a little house shape.
Line up to the centre placing strong adhesive on the v part on both sides , just a smidgen below the fold line of the card .
Then open out and lay the other piece and close the two side pieces so they meet in the centre, line up with the centre of the base and mark the top square piece and opposite bottom square pieces which is where your adhesive goes , unfold and hey presto you have your pop up mechanism !

BEGINNER'S CLASS

It was back to basics for my beginners this week . I wanted to show them that all they required for paper crafting is stamps , inks and paper . I chose Lovely As a Tree for this week's class because it is so versatile and we used it to create two Christmas cards and a birthday card . As it does not contain a sentiment stamp I suggested Better Together as a great versatile stamp set .
Here is a birthday card we created using Always Artichoke and Early Espresso.

The first Christmas card uses Real Red and Garden Green with some of the yummy Real Red ribbon available from the Holiday Catalogue .

I adore the technique used to create this next card and was asked for a tutorial by one of my stamping sisters so here you go !

Begin with a piece of sticky note torn into a mountain shape like so

Stamp your trees along the top

Add a mask punched from a 1 1/2 inch circle and sponge this whole top piece

Reposition mask and repeat the process , continually removing and repositioning the mask until you are happy with the scene you have created . you are an artist !

The finished card after some multipurpose glue mixed with water was flicked on with a paint brush and then some silver glitter was added . Love this ! You should really give it a go !
